An anti-war website called Iraq Body Count estimates the number of violent
deaths among Iraqi civilian citizens since 2003 to be about 92,000. Most
from roadside bombs, car bombs, suicide bombs, terrorist mortars and
gun-wielding Islamic militants. Ameican soldiers shoot some if necessary.
We have to assume that Saddam, his brothers and Chemical Joe are included in
this number.

Since the insurgents are not strictly military, but rather some are Iraqi
civilians bent on blowing up those who disagree with them, these casualties
are also included in this count. The suicide bombers, as well as their
victims, are included.

The site is funded by anti-war groups in the US and UK. Some people have
way too much time on their hands.

Yes. Sometimes it's necessary to shoot a few civilians if they
witnessed you raping their daughter/sister, for example, and there's a
chance they might cause some trouble for you and your "brothers in
arms". There's always a good reason. I mean, it's not as if American
forces were renowned the world over for being trigger-happy, hopped-up
on goofballs and very badly trained.

Not to mention those blown up by the USAF.

Some people have none at all, because some jazzed-up twenty-year-old
feels like wasting someone. Luckily his superiors almost always turn a
blind eye.

Until now. I wonder what a new president might do. That's a question
looming on the horizon.

Too bad they can't broaden their coverage a little and mention the
(estimated) 1.5-4,000,000 people who were murdered by Saddam's regime.

Somebody ask killfile boy if he has a cite for that figure.

Like he'll answer.

Well, you know. ... estimated. You know, by someone.

Heck, whitehouse.gov couldn't get the number up to 1 mil even with
generous 50-100K sorts of number waving and adding in an estimated 400K
children who died of preventable diseases and malnutrition:
